A recent clinical study found that adults who took FOCUSfactor as directed for six weeks improved their memory, concentration and focus.
The clinical study on FOCUSfactor was sponsored by Factor Nutrition Labs and was conducted by Cognitive Research Corporation, a leader in analyzing the effects of nutritional supplements on human cognition. The study was conducted in compliance with all applicable country requirements for the conduct of clinical studies, including those outlined by the International Conference on Harmonization, Consolidated Guidelines on Good Clinical Practices, and the Food and Drug Administration.
The clinical study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study to evaluate the effect of FOCUSfactor on memory, concentration, and focus in healthy adults. There were 96 subjects enrolled in the study aged 18 to 65. The mean age of subjects who participated was 49.1 years. The study was over six weeks. 89 subjects completed the six week study and were included in the data analyses.
The study used the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT). RAVLT is a standardized, widely used neuropsychological test and one of the most commonly used tests of memory in psychopharmacology research. The study also used the CogScreen Test which is a computer-administered neuropsychological test battery developed for the Federal Aviation Administration for evaluating the cognitive functioning of pilots. The test is used worldwide in pilot selection as well as clinical research trials evaluating effects of treatment on cognitive functioning.
The clinical study demonstrated that, compared to placebo, FOCUSfactor improved abilities referred to as memory, concentration, and focus in healthy adults. Following six weeks of treatment, subjects who took FOCUSfactor had a mean increase in recall of 6.5 words on RAVLT Sum 1-5, compared to 4.5 words for those who received placebo (p < 0.001). Subjects who received FOCUSfactor performed significantly better (p = 0.031) on a CogScreen measure of concentration / working memory than subjects who received placebo.
In addition to these efficacy findings, the study results demonstrated that FOCUSfactor was very well tolerated by subjects.
The clinical study was conducted by Cognitive Research Corporation, a full-service contract research organization known for expertise in evaluating the effects of medications, nutritional supplements, and foods on mental functioning and sleep.
